June 2008 - BurtConrad.com is my latest work. My client is known sound engineer, producer and musician. Idea to make interface of the site resemble look and functionality of a sound editing program – fits nicely to what my client does and what should be communicated to visitors of the site. I was Creative Director on the project as well as Flash Developer. In the very beginning my client and I had discussion what technology to use to implement the idea and should we invite a developer on the project. We thought that Adobe Flash technology would give us enough freedom to make concept happen and at some point I decided that I was going to do a coding. Doing development part myself gave me a lot of creative freedom. I could experiment away and refine initial idea as much as I wanted without need to ask someone else to fix code each time it was necessary to make things work. Also it allowed me to be creative with Action Script (v. CS3) itself and come up with my own solution in terms of functionality and effects. Page layout for example, I actually built my own engine to generate pages. It pulls copy and tags from an XML file and styles the page the way that original CSS engine of Flash doesn’t allow to do. |
